As you may have previously seen here and here the upcoming James Bond film Spectre is currently filming a major car chase through Rome featuring British sports car brands Aston Martin and Jaguar. You can now add Lotus to that list as well.

The car pictured above is the Lotus Evora S police model on set, which is used by the Italian Military Police in Rome. It joined the force back in 2011 for use in emergency organ transport and other critical emergency situations, and it features a state-of-the-art voice recognition software system in true James Bond fashion. The car was spotted on set in front of the Vatican Dome while the crew filmed a small segment of the rather extensive and elaborate car chase.

The photos didn't reveal if the car will actually feature as part of the chase, but it is more likely the Roman police force just wanted to fit in better keeping guard in set. James Bond's second most notable Bond car following the iconic Aston Martin DB5 is arguably the Lotus Esprit, which featured in The Spy Who Loved Me and For Your Eyes Only during Roger Moore's era as the spy.

Other photos from the Rome shoot show the exciting finale of the chase being filmed along the Tiber River (with awesome video):
